Hawaii Learning Resource will partner with Kavita Rao of the University of Hawaii at Manoa to provide a workshop for Educators, Universal Design for Learning: Strategies and Tools to Engage Diverse Learners. The workshop will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday at Kanu o ka ‘Aina NCPC School, 64-1043 Hi‘iaka Street in Waimea.

Hawaii Learning Resource will partner with Kavita Rao of the University of Hawaii at Manoa to provide a workshop for Educators, Universal Design for Learning: Strategies and Tools to Engage Diverse Learners. The workshop will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday at Kanu o ka ‘Aina NCPC School, 64-1043 Hi‘iaka Street in Waimea.

This workshop is designed for educators of elementary school students, but parents are welcome to attend. Participants will review the Universal Design for Learning framework which provides practical ideas for designing instruction for diverse learners in the classroom.

Rao is an assistant professor in the College of Education, Department of Special Education. She teaches courses on educational and assistive technologies and has been a teacher trainer for more than 15 years.

There is a fee of $15 to attend this workshop which includes use of a computer, refreshments and lunch. The fee could be waived for eligible participants.
